The 10 Most-Visited Art Museums in the World |
|
|
The Art Newspaper has counted 2025 attendance at the world’s art museums. The Louvre is still No. 1, at 9.05 million visitors, in the same year thieves took €88 million of crown jewels from it on a Sunday morning. The surprise sits at No. 3: a free museum in Seoul that grew 72% in a year. |

"BEST EXPLANATION on Options hands down!!"
Let's face it - options trading can be confusing.
That's why I put together this free report that explains it using cartoon stick figures:
I've been teaching options to regular people since 2001, and this is easily my most popular training of all time.
Here are a few comments from my readers:
"BEST EXPLANATION on Options hands down!!"
"Best explanations i've seen on the net so far! great job!"
"This was so so helpful. The cartoons helped and then all of the sudden, the formal definition just clicked! Thank you!!"
"Bill Poulos is the first to explain call and put options in a language I understand."
"I’m not even done... and the explanation is so good I had to comment. Dude you are a great teacher."
This report sells for $29.97 on my website, but today, you can download a copy for free.
The only catch is that the download link will expire, and when it does, you'll have to pay full price on my website.
P.S. This is my #1 most popular options trading report. Normally $29.97 on my website, but free via this backdoor download link:
| What's Surprising |
The National Museum of Korea had 6.5 million visitors in 2025. That is up 72% from 3.8 million in 2024, and the most since it opened in December 1945. It is now third in the world, 67,363 visitors ahead of the British Museum.
Part of the cause is a Netflix film. The tiger in KPop Demon Hunters was reportedly modeled on a magpie-and-tiger painting the museum holds, and its director, Maggie Kang, says the museum “deeply inspired” her. Several of the gift shop’s souvenirs sold out. Its goods brand passed 40 billion won (about $27.7 million) in sales for the first time.
The crowd is Korean. Only 231,192 visitors came from abroad, 3.55% of the total. Admission to the permanent galleries is free. Counting its 13 regional branches, Korea’s national museums drew 14.77 million visits. This is a domestic boom, not a tourist one.
| What's Not Surprising |
The Louvre is No. 1 again, at 9.05 million. That is still about 1.2 million below its 2018 record of 10.2 million. Nearly three in four of its visitors came from abroad. Americans were the biggest group.
London holds three of the top ten: the British Museum, Tate Modern and the National Gallery. All three are free. England’s national museums have not charged at the door since 1 December 2001. Visits to the 15 national museums have nearly doubled since, from 22.77 million in 1999/2000 to 44.67 million in 2025/26. Late last month, Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy ruled out charging foreign tourists. Paris went the other way. Since 14 January, visitors from outside the European Economic Area pay €32 at the Louvre, €10 more than before.
The Vatican Museums at No. 2 had help. 2025 was a Jubilee year, and the Vatican estimates 33 million pilgrims and visitors came to Rome. Across the list, the top 100 art museums drew just over 200 million visits. In 2019 they drew 230 million. The crowd still hasn’t fully come back.

The Art Newspaper’s survey of 2026 lands next spring. Three things to track. First, whether the Louvre’s €32 ticket thins its foreign crowd. Second, the Grand Egyptian Museum, which drew nearly 4 million visitors in its first ten months, close to this year’s No. 10 bar of 4.15 million. Third, whether Seoul holds its surge without a new hit film. The Louvre heist turns one year old on 19 October. We’ll be watching. |
