The 10 Best-Performing Emerging Stock Markets of 2026 |
|
|
South Korea's MSCI country index has nearly doubled this year, gaining 98.3% in dollar terms through September 30. Taiwan is up 70.7%. Eight other emerging markets — from Colombia to Turkey — have also outpaced the S&P 500 through Q3. The MSCI Emerging Markets Index returned 23.7%, roughly double the pace of US large-caps. The biggest market gains of 2026 are in Seoul and Taipei, not New York. |

The two markets at the top share one trait: semiconductors. Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix dominate the MSCI Korea index. Taiwan's index is weighted heavily toward TSMC. The AI capital-spending cycle — data centers, high-bandwidth memory, advanced logic chips — has concentrated equity returns in these two economies at a scale no developed market can match. MSCI Korea returned 101% in 2025. It has returned another 98% through Q3 2026. A $100 investment at end-2024 would now be worth roughly $398. The surprise begins at number three. Colombia (+51%) and Peru (+39%) are commodity producers riding elevated oil and copper prices. Hungary (+34%), Greece (+30%), and Poland (+30%) represent Central and Eastern Europe, buoyed by EU defense spending and nearshoring investment flows. Greece, once the emblem of eurozone financial crisis, has ranked in the top six emerging equity markets for two consecutive years. Five years ago, the idea of Greece outperforming the S&P 500 by 18 percentage points would have seemed absurd. Thailand and Brazil round out the top ten on the strength of tourism recovery, commodity exports, and improving fiscal trajectories. |

The bottom of the ranking confirms structural weaknesses visible for months. Indonesia collapsed with a 39.2% loss, the worst emerging-market result by 25 percentage points. Capital flight and rupiah depreciation compounded weak export demand. India lost 14.7%. JP Morgan estimates that foreign investors pulled more than $29 billion from Indian equities in the first half of 2026, pressured by elevated oil import costs, stretched valuations, and AI-disruption concerns in India's technology services sector. China fell 11.8%, still caught between property-sector stress and cautious consumer spending. India, China, and Indonesia — three of Asia's four largest economies — all posted losses. That makes the overall EM index's outperformance all the more striking. The S&P 500's 12.4% return through Q3 is solid in most years. In 2026, ten emerging-market country indices outperformed it through Q3. The rotation is not a fluke. It is driven by semiconductor demand, commodity prices, and European defense spending — forces that look structural, not seasonal. |

My accountant is going to kill me
Free book she told me to stop sending
She specifically told me to stop giving away my "Simple Options Trading For Beginners" book for free.
"Bill, you're leaving money on the table," she said. "That book sells for $29.97 on your website."
She's right. But here's what she doesn't understand...
Every trader I help avoid the mistakes I made is one less person who'll quit trading in frustration like I almost did decades ago.
So against her advice, I'm sending you this email.
Right now, you can grab a copy of the same book selling for $29.97 on our website... completely free.
It reveals the ONE options technique that took me 11 years to discover (and saves you from wasting time on the other 47 strategies that don't work).
Inside, you'll find out:
Why "more strategies" actually means "more losses"
The 10-minute nightly routine that replaced my 8-hour trading days
The specific market setup I look for (it's almost embarrassingly simple)
P.S. You can buy this book right now for $29.97, or you can grab your free copy here.

South Korea and Taiwan owe their positions to a single sector: semiconductors. Samsung, SK Hynix, and TSMC drive the bulk of each index's return. That concentration cuts both ways. A slowdown in AI capital spending, a pivot in the memory cycle, or new export restrictions on advanced chips could reverse these gains within a quarter. Samsung and SK Hynix are expected to report Q3 earnings in late October — results that will signal whether the AI hardware boom still has legs. Indonesia's 39% decline also bears close attention. The rupiah has been under sustained pressure, and further currency weakness could ripple across Southeast Asian markets. We'll be watching. |
